7. PROCEDURES: SEMESTER/COURSES

9.1

There should be at least two relevant full time PhD faculty members in a Department/Center/Institute to launch MS/MPhil study program.

9.2

For the award of MS/MPhil degree, candidates will need to complete a minimum of 24 credit hours semester courses comprising of core and elective courses as per requirements of the discipline along with a minimum of 06 credit hours of research work and thesis, along with all pre-requisites

9.3

Chairpersons/ Directors shall start the first semester within 10 days after completion of admission process by the University, semester date will be considered from the date of academic calendar notified by GSO.

9.4

Second semester shall start within a week after termination of First Semester Examinations.

9.5

A scholar shall be allowed to appear in examination provided that he/she has been on the roll of the University during that semester, has registered him/herself for the courses of study within specific period of time and has attended at least 75% of lectures, laboratory work and field work.

9.6

The minimum duration of the MS/MPhil program of study is two years. After expiry of the minimum period, the scholar shall apply for extension up to the maximum duration of four years otherwise his/her registration will stand cancelled by the GSO through AS&RB.

9.7

If in case of any incident occurred with scholar medically or other reasons; on the request of scholar; his/her semester/s may be frozen/deferred by university authorities after scrutinizing his/her request on genuine grounds of the incident occurred. The maximum allowed period in this case is two semesters.

9.8
